Why do they need soooo many different shipping systems, and why do I as the recipient need to care?
I have been in the situation where I was trying to track a package, but because I was in the wrong portal or selected the wrong DHL service, it claimed that it had no idea about the package.
How hard can it be to have one unified tracking number?

I used to put my photos on DeviantArt, I had an account for ~20 years on that site, and it got slower and worse over time, finally I just had enough and deleted my account and built a simple HTML menu and exported galleries from DigiKam and put on a personal webhost, it is far, far, far faster than any big social media image sharing platform, and it looks retro and cool.

Support the current regime
For any proper aid to get into NK you need the support of the regime, and they will take the credit for the aid.
I saw a documentary of a film crew following a team of surgeons travelling to NK to help people who had lost their sight, it was a simple operation, preformed and funded by foreign organizations, the regime had only allowed the team access.
The operation took maybe a few min per patient, they replaced a lens in the eyes of the patient, and as soon as the patient was done, they rushed to the portraits of the leaders of NK, got on their knees and thanked them deeply for their graciousness of restoring their eyesight.
This is the kind of society NK is, everything is tied to the leader.
This is the starting point, and you have 26 million people to deal with…
Ok, say that a world power decide that they have had enough with the Kim family and this is worth going to war over.

Regardless of what countries are involved, Seoul WILL be bombarded.
So now the attacker is hated both in NK and SK as well as probably a lot of other countries.

China loves NK as a buffer against the west, so they would and have deployed the PLA to save NK.
Ok, to my mind I feel it is more important to have the tools to shape my feed clean than to keep my watch history private.

My YT feed is basically 80% I like, if I watch a video outside of my normal interests, I’ll get rid of it from my watch history.
My feed is very focused on infrastructure, computers, weird history videos and stuff like that.
Is there a specific reason as to why you want wrap around sunglasses, apart from aestethics?
I mean if you need to work outdoors and need protection from the sun covering every angle or need protection from wind I can see that they are the only real option…
But if you are only looking for that kind of sunglasses for the style, I’d encourage you to look for other styles.

You are right that noone should be driving blind, I fully agree with that, and yes I know that the driver is ultimately legally responsible for the safety of unprotected people in traffic.
But where does the responsibillity of the pedestrian end?
I wrote a rudiculous extreme scenario in another comment in this thread about a person in a ghillie suit playing hide and seek near a road which lead to an accident, please feel free to respond and tell me who you feel are responsible and why in that situation.
There are no right or wrong answers to that scenario, I am simply trying to take this kind of scenario to the edge to try and figure out what the limits are
I can avoid dark objects just fine, what is difficult to deal with is people who wear what could the equivalent of camo, and getting pissed that I didn’t see them until late.
A tree is much larger than a human, making it more visually distinct.
Lets take an extreme scenario, just to try and find the limits of what is the responsibility of a driver and a bicyclist, I know it is a ridiculous scenario, but it is interesting to see were people feel the limits should be.
A person wears a ghillie suit, and lies down next to the road, he is playing a game of extreme hide and seek with a few friends, well the game day just ended, and he stands up just as a car is 50 meters away, the speed limit is 50kmh, it is dusk, the driver of the car swerves to avoid potentially hitting the person, and hits a light pole on the other side of the road.
Who would you say is responsible for the accident?

As someone living in Sweden, I have seen pedestrians and bicyclists wearing dark coloured clothing during autumn nights, they just disappear in the background and VASTLY reduce the distance I can see them at, they just pops out from the background only when you are close to them.
This is not a simple driver issue, these are people who seems to deliberately dress in camo, and then complain that drivers don’t pay enough attention.
I am not asking everyone to wear a high-viz vest all the time, but please get a reflector and show that you have some self preservation instinct

Yes, the ozone hole is healing, we have less lead in the environment coming from leaded fuel, cars in general have become more fuel efficient, there are plenty of things that are way better now, than 30 years ago.
There is great music being made here in 2025, though the general music taste has stagnated for a long time.
Medical procedures have absolutely got better, as has tech in general, in 1995 we used CRT monitors with our computers, we used ball mice that constantly needed to be cleaned.
